The Parsons Police Legacy Fund would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped make the Third Annual Guardians of the Greens Charity Golf Tournament a success. From the businesses and individuals who sponsored the tournament to the golfers, volunteers, donors, and community members who purchased raffle tickets and mulligans, this year's event demonstrated once again what can happen when a community comes together for a common purpose.
The 2026 tournament generated more than $22,000 in overall support and fundraising activity. After tournament expenses, prize money, and event costs, the Legacy Fund expects the event to provide more than $18,000 in proceeds to continue its mission in the community.
Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks, President of the Parsons Police Legacy Fund, said the success of the tournament goes well beyond the money raised. "This tournament is a great example of what the Legacy Fund is supposed to be about. It brings businesses, citizens, law enforcement, and our community together while raising money that we can put right back into opportunities for others. We are extremely grateful to every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, and person who donated. Whether someone gave us $5 or became one of our major sponsors, they played a part in making this possible. That support allows us to continue building a legacy that will benefit Parsons and Labette County for years to come."
This year's tournament was supported by approximately three dozen sponsors, including returning supporters as well as 17 new sponsors. Major support came from CST, Power Flame, Tom Davis, and numerous Gold, Silver, and Banner-level sponsors. The tournament also benefited from the Kimber raffle, additional prize raffles, mulligans, and other donations made throughout the event.
The Legacy Fund also congratulates this year's tournament winners. Moore's Liquor took first place in the First Flight, followed by Ballers in second and Commercial Bank in third. In the Second Flight, CST 1 finished first, CST 2 took second, and Power Flame 2 finished third. Ryan Young and Tony Fuentez earned Closest to the Pin honors, while Tim Posch won Longest Drive. Garrett Smith was the winner of the Kimber raffle.
None of the success would have been possible without the volunteers who donated their time before, during, and after the tournament, including Greg Chalker, Jim Zaleski, Rod Landrum, Abigail Easley, Michelle Zaleski, Cortney Jarman, Jason Ludwig, Kyle Wiford, Raelee Wiford, Charlotte Lamb, Becky Dantic, John Ball, and Callie Carpenter. There is a full list of sponsors and volunteers on our social media page.
The Parsons Police Legacy Fund was created with a simple goal: make investments today that create opportunities and build a stronger community tomorrow. Funds raised through events such as Guardians of the Greens allow the organization to continue supporting local students, schools, athletics, scholarships, community organizations, and other projects that positively affect Parsons and the surrounding area. These projects have been; donations to USD 503, USD 506, the creation of the Legacy in Leadership Scholarship, the yearly Shop with a Cop Program as well as Operation Blue Shield and Freeze with the Police. These are all made possible by the money that is generated for the legacy fund.
The Legacy Fund Board extends its deepest appreciation to everyone who participated in the Third Annual Guardians of the Greens. To our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, donors, and community supporters: thank you. More than $18,000 raised is an outstanding result, but the real success is what those dollars will allow us to do next.
