Parsons Police Community Survey Results 2024

Community Perception of the Department

In 2024, the Parsons Police Department partnered with Police2Peace.org to conduct a community survey using QR-code-based distribution that was widely promoted throughout the community. The body of data reported by the Parsons community was considered statistically significant with 141 responses collected from a population of approximately 9,300 (this would equate to a margin of error of 3.09%).

Public Trust and Confidence

Community member responses collected revealed the sentiment that the community generally trusts and has confidence in the police department. For example, for almost every, age, race, education, length of residence and type of residence, respondents agreed with the statements, "Police protect peoples basic rights".

This is followed by equally positive sentiment about the justness of the agency's policing practices. For example, the majority of respondents agreed with the statements, "Police respect people's rights" and, "Police usually treat people with dignity and respect."

Community Support and Engagement

Community member data showed that the community felt a high level of engagement with the agency. For example, the in response to the statement, "Police should build professional work-related relationships with community members," respondents overwhelmingly agreed or strongly agreed.
