The Parsons Police Department, in collaboration with the Parsons Area Community Foundation, is proud to announce the establishment of the Parsons Police Legacy Fund. This fund represents a long-term commitment to serving our community through education, outreach, and youth development.

Our Mission

The guiding principle of the Parsons Police Legacy Fund is simple yet powerful: "Building Better Together." Our mission is to create opportunities for growth and support across Parsons by investing in programs that strengthen our community, uplift our youth, and honor our shared legacy of service.

How the Legacy Fund Supports Our Community

The Parsons Police Legacy Fund provides critical resources to:

  • Shop With a Cop - Bringing holiday joy to children and families in need while building positive relationships between youth and law enforcement.
  • Community and Policing Needs - Supporting local outreach efforts, assistance for senior citizens, and public-safety initiatives that benefit the entire community.
  • Educational Opportunities - Awarding scholarships to local students who aspire to continue their education at Labette Community College and pursue careers in law enforcement, criminal justice, or civic leadership.
  • Youth Athletics & Enrichment - Fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship by supporting programs like the Parsons High School Golf Team and other local athletic organizations.

Recent Milestones

  • Parsons Police Legacy in Leadership Scholarship: Launched in partnership with the Labette Community College Foundation, this scholarship invests in the next generation of leaders by helping Parsons graduates achieve their academic and career goals.
  • First Donation to the Parsons High School Golf Team: In 2025, the Legacy Fund proudly presented its inaugural donation to the Parsons High School Golf Team, ensuring that student athletes have the tools and support they need to succeed.
  • New Initiative - "Operation Warm Shield: Protecting Kids from the Cold" Beginning this winter, the Legacy Fund will provide coats, hats, and gloves to local children in need, ensuring they are safe, warm, and ready to thrive.

Fundraising & Community Involvement

The Legacy Fund relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to bring these programs to life. One of our cornerstone events is the Annual Charity Golf Scramble - "Guardians of the Greens." First launched in 2024, this event has become a vital fundraiser that not only generates support for our initiatives but also brings the community together in a spirit of camaraderie and giving.
