On the morning of July 13, 2026, the Parsons Police Department was notified by the Augusta Police Department that a vehicle stolen earlier that morning at approximately 7:50 a.m. was believed to be headed toward Parsons. Officers, who were familiar with the suspect, Tylor Abshere. Officers utilized the department's Flock Safety camera system to monitor the vehicle's estimated movement as it hit on other Flock cameras and began proactively watching the area.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., Community Services Officer Ricky Thompson, while on routine patrol, located the stolen vehicle near the 2300 block of Appleton Avenue as it was driving through alleyways. CSO Thompson maintained visual contact and safely took Tylor Abshere, 42, of Parsons, into custody without incident.
Abshere was arrested on behalf of the Augusta Police Department for Felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle and will also face a local charge of Driving While Suspended (Second Offense).
This arrest is a great example of how proactive patrol, technology, and strong partnerships between law enforcement agencies work together to quickly recover stolen property and hold offenders accountable.
This continues to be an on-going investigation, and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
