The Parsons Police Department, in partnership with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), and the Labette County Sheriff Office (LBSO), conducted a coordinated search warrant operation on March 21, 2026, resulting in the arrest of Anthony "Tony" Emert and the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal narcotics.
The operation targeted a residence located in the 2200 block of Morgan Avenue in Parsons, Kansas, as well as a vehicle associated with the investigation. Officers from the Parsons Police Department, alongside KBI Special Agent and LBSO Deputies, executed the warrant following an ongoing narcotics investigation. During the operation, Emert was located and detained without incident as he returned to the residence. Officers subsequently secured the property and conducted a thorough search of both the residence and the suspect's vehicle. As a result of the search, investigators located multiple items that indicate narcotics distribution, including digital scales, packaging materials, and records consistent with drug transactions. Most notably, officers recovered over 3 Ounces of a white crystal substance, believed to be methamphetamine, from multiple locations within the vehicle.
This quantity is considered a significant amount and is consistent with distribution-level possession rather than personal use. Additional items recovered during the investigation included drug paraphernalia, suspected marijuana residue, and materials commonly used in the packaging and sale of illegal narcotics.
Lieutenant Sherri McGuire, who oversees the Investigations Division, praised the coordinated effort of the officers and investigators involved saying, "this case is a direct result of the dedication, teamwork, and professionalism displayed by our investigators and partner agencies. The efforts of our personnel, along with the support of the KBI and LBSO allowed us to safely execute this warrant and remove a substantial amount of dangerous narcotics from our community. I am extremely proud of the work conducted by everyone involved."
Emert was arrested and later transported to the Labette County Jail. The following charges are requested and are being sent to the Labette County Attorney for review and official charging, Distribution of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Contraband into a Correctional Facility and No Drug Tax Stamp.
The Parsons Police Department remains committed to aggressively targeting illegal drug activity and protecting the safety and well-being of the community. This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed pending laboratory analysis and further review. Anyone with information related to illegal drug activity is encouraged to contact the Parsons Police Department or submit tips anonymously through local reporting channels.
This continues to be an on-going investigation, and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspdks.gov.
