The Parsons Police Department and Parsons Fire Department are proud to announce the 4th Annual Parsons Public Safety Fair, taking place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in front of the Parsons Police Department at 217 N. Central Avenue.

This free, family-friendly event invites community members of all ages to spend the day learning about safety, meeting their local first responders, and exploring emergency vehicles and equipment. The Public Safety Fair serves as a bridge between public safety professionals and the community they serve-offering hands-on activities, demonstrations, and vital safety education in an engaging, approachable atmosphere.

Attendees can look forward to:

  • Fire safety and prevention exhibits from the Parsons Fire Department
  • Police vehicles and equipment displays
  • Safety education on topics such as impaired driving awareness and firearm safety
  • Child ID kits and car seat safety checks provided by trained professionals
  • Emergency response information from Labette Health EMS and other local partners

"The Public Safety Fair is one of our favorite community traditions," said Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks. "It's a chance for our residents to connect personally with the men and women who protect them every day and to learn critical safety information in a fun, relaxed environment."

This year's fair coincides with the PK Art Festival, creating a unique, citywide celebration of creativity, safety, and community spirit. Together, the two events are expected to fill downtown Parsons with activity, education, and family fun.

Parsons Police Officer Mark Raney added, "Fire prevention is just as important as gun safety education. Events like this allow us to strengthen the bond between first responders and the citizens we serve-it's educational, engaging, and fun for everyone who attends."

The success of the Public Safety Fair is made possible through the collaboration of the Parsons Police and Fire Departments, Labette Health EMS, and a dedicated team of local sponsors and volunteers who share a commitment to building a safer, stronger community.
